Get More Clicks on Your Advertisments

The biggest mistake that most people make when it comes to getting more people to click on their ad is the fact that they have no clue how important it is that you test this and increase your click through rate.

Here is why this is so important for the success of your Google AdWords advertising:

  1. Your cost per click will actually go down. The higher your click through rate means that Google is making more money off of you every time your ad is shown.

That means they will usually drop your bid prices on that ad to reward you for increasing your click through rate.

  2. Your position will actually go up! You can actually be bidding on position number 5 and end up in the #1 spot because you have a high click through rate.

The reason is that they know they are making a lot of money off your ad so they want to make sure you get as many views as possible so they will move you above the others who are not performing like you.

  3. You will avoid some “slaps”! A lot of times Google will actually deactivate your ads if your click through rate goes too low. They see that as a sign that your quality levels are low & that you are not being relevant enough to the market.

Three Strategies For Getting More People To Click On Your Ad:

  1. Stop making it about you! No one cares about how great you are or how great your site is. The more you make it about you, the less people will click on it.
  2. Make sure you use the keyword in the title if you can. I have found this to work in most cases. If you include the keyword they are searching for in the title, they will often see it first and click on your ad.
  3. Test your ads constantly. You want to make sure you are always split testing different versions so you can increase your traffic.

How to Rank in Google For Natural Keyword Optimization

Everyone wants to rank high and be on the 1st page of Google. Some business owners think that they can only achieve this goal through Google AdWords or Pay-per-click marketing, which can be costly especially if you are a new and inexperienced marketer with a little or no budget.

Now, if you want to rank in the natural search for Web 2.0 and content campaigns, you want to rank in the natural search for keyword optimization, which you can do for free with the right research. These campaigns are found on the left side of the page.

The first thing you want to do in keyword research is to think of a few base keywords for your business. You may ask yourself,

  • Are people searching for that keyword?
  • Do I have a chance at ranking for this keyword?

If you try on Google local searches the phrase local online business, the results are for 277,000,000 searches. This may seem to be great at a glance if so many people are searching for that phrase. However, we need to go further in looking at our competition, to see how many websites are optimized in the search engines for that particular keyword.

To do this, simply put quotation marks around the keyword or key phrase. As a result with the previous example, the results were 827,100. This number is way too high. A result of 10,000 is okay however; it will be perfect if you can get the result down to 5,000 or less to be effective.

Once you have found a topic that will rank well in the natural search for keyword optimization, you can write press releases, articles, do Squidoo lenses, etc and then set a tracking system to see which campaigns work well for you and expand them even further.

How to Add a Business Listing In Google Maps

Google Maps has the facility to show you the location of the entire neighborhood. Google Maps can get a satellite, aerial or hybrid view of the location you are looking for and also find directions with live traffic updates.

If you wish to add a business listing to Google Maps, so that you may be found in the Google local maps search results, here are a few easy guides to follow:

  • On the Google Maps page, at the bottom left of the page, click on “Business Owners-Add/Edit Your Business”
  • This takes you to the Local Business Center, and you will be asked to log in to your Google Account – if you use Google Adwords or Adsense, you can use the same email address and password.
  • Once logged in, under the “Locations” tab, click on “Add new business”.
  • Then enter your business name, and address. Make sure you enter the full postal address, as Google will send your activation PIN to the address you provided.
  • You can create separate listings for each of your business locations. Click “Continue”
  • You then add your phone number, and have the option to add your email and website address, and a description of your business, which will appear on the listing found by your customers. You have 200 characters for the description, so use keywords relevant to your business.
  • You can then indicate which forms of payment your company accepts, such as American Express etc.
  • Enter your opening hours if you wish, but this is optional.
  • You will be asked for a contact name. This is also optional and won’t appear on Google Maps. Click “Continue”
  • Select a relevant category for your listing, you may select up to 5 different categories.
  • You then see a preview of your listing and may edit it if you wish. Once you are happy with the listing, click “Continue”
  • You now wait for up to 2 weeks for Google to send your activation PIN. You then follow the instructions in the letter to validate your listing before it will appear in Google Maps search results.
